DAY 01 : JAYAPURA - KURIMA - KILISE (L,D)*

• Arrival Jayapura, meet your guide.
• Continue flight depart to Wamena at 10.00AM or 12.00AM
• Arrive at Wamena airport, then drive in 40 minutes to Sogokmo with your guide, porters and cook, the starting point of the trekking to Kurima, sub District of the tribe on level terrain.
• Climbing the Hesegem hill on the direction of Kilise. Along the trails, you will meet local people in their activities with beautiful scenery around.
• Lunch served en-route.
• Afternoon you may explore the traditional villages and learn about the people way of life.
• Dinner and stay at local guest house of Kilise. (Walk approx. 4 hours).

 DAY 02 : KILISE – IBIROMA - WAMEREK (B,L,D)*

• After breakfast, proceed to Wamerek village by passing Ibiroma village.
• Little harder with narrow and slippery paths up down of
  the hills with about 1.800 meters of elevation is the trail where we will going through. But you may also enjoying the nature's beauty, and along the trail you will meet local people with friendly smile in their traditional clothes.
• Lunch will be ser at the edge of Tangma river and you can clean your body while the cook preparing the
  food.
• After lunch we continue to Wamerek within 30 minutes, dinner and overnight stay at a teacher's house or school. Tents will be settled up.(Walk Approx. 5 hours)

 DAY 03 : WAMEREK - WESAGALEP (BL,D)

• Breakfast at the guest house.
• Trekking to Wesagalep village for about 6 hours.
• You are proceeding to cross suspension hanging bridge over Baliem river, to cross this bridge you have to pay more attention because the bridge is already old.
• Lunch will be served at a small waterfall and you may refresh yourself in the water.
• The way to Wesagalep village from the river is going up the hill and you again can see the gorgeous scenery from the other side.
• Dinner and overnight at school or local houses of Wesagalep.

 DAY 04 : WESAGALEP - WUSEREM (B,L,D)*

• Leaving Wesagalep village in the morning after breakfast.
• We will trek up hill in 30 minutes, and when you arrive at the top of hill, we walk through
  the Dani sweet potatoes gardens.
• We are going to enter a small rain forest with a sponge of mosses, no one live permanently in this forest.
• Lunch will have at the river.
• Proceed to Userem village on the regular path.
• Dinner and stay the night at school or local houses. Tents will be settled up. (Walk approx. 6-7 hours)

DAY 05 : WUSEREM - SYOKOSIMO – HITUGI  (B.L.D)

• Breakfast at guest house
• Going through the regular path down until Syokosimo, today is easy trekking but the landscape is very
  beautiful and really marvelous one.
• While we rest on the top of the hill the wind blows very hard and never boring live in this area.
• Lunch boxes have provided in Syokosimo, after lunch we go to swim and continue trek to
  Hitugi village.
• Late afternoon arrival. (Walk approx. 4 hours)

DAY 06 : HITUGI – UGEM - KURIMA – WAMENA (B.L.D)*

• Breakfast at guest house.
• Trekking to Kurima via Ugem village with nice view down to Mugi river and garden on the mountain rigde. Have lunch on the way, arrive in Kurima sub district then by car within 1 hours to Wamena.
• Dinner and overnight at Baliem Pilamo hotel. (Walk approx. 5 hours)

DAY 07 :    WAMENA – JAYAPURA  (B,L,D)*

• Breakfast at hotel.
• Transfer to Wamena airport for a flight departure to Jayapura. 
• Upon arrival, transfer to Sentani Indah hotel similar.
• Proceed with the excursion to Mc. Arthur memorial and boating to  Lake Sentani.
• Lunch at local restaurant near the lake.
• Dinner and overnight at Sentani Indah Hotel or similar.

DAY 08 :    DEPARTURE  (B)

• Breakfast at your hotel.
• Transfer to  Sentani  airport leaving for Jayapura for the next destinations.

BALIEM VALLEY TREKKING

OPTION 2

Day 01 :  Arrival Jayapura - Wamena  (L,D)

• Arrival Jayapura, meet by your guide, and continue your flight depart to
  Wamena at 10.00AM or 12.00AM.
• Upon arrival at Wamena airport transfer to Baliem Pilamo Hotel for a short briefing about the trekking.
• Visit Pugima hanging bridge and Jibama Local Market. 
• Rest of the day is free program while the guide make further preparation for the next day.
• Lunch and dinner at Baliem Pilamo Hotel or similar .

Day 02 :  Wamena – Kurima - Hitugi  (B,L,D)

• Breakfast at hotel.
• Drive to Sogokmo where the trekking begins with guide, cook and porters.
• Walk and crossing the metal suspension bridge on Baliem River near by Sogokmo then hike up to 5 hours through the beautiful country side and Dani villages to Hitugi.
• You will encounter and greated by the Dani people who work in their steep sweet potato garden.
• Arrive in Hitugi in the afternoon, accommodation at the head of the village house.
• Lunch and dinner will provide by our cook.

 Day 03 :  Hitugi - Sykosimo (B,L,D)*

• From Hitugi village We hike 1,5 hours down to Mugi river and cross the small traditional rope bridge near a small water fall.
• From the waterfall we still hike 30 minutes and will arrive in the village of Syokosimo, accommodation at the teacher's house.
• After lunch in the village, we hike to the next Danis compounds lie on the top of the hill to explore and experience the Dani daily life and culture.
• Late afternoon we return back to our accommodation in the village for dinner and overnight stay.

 Day 04 :  Syokosimo - Userem – Ibiroma or Kilise  (B,L,D)

• Today, we hike up and down the trail is steep and could be very sleeper if
  it is in rainy season.
• The first 2 hours hike to the village of Userem through the steep sweet potato garden near the Baliem river.
• In userem village we cross another metal suspension bridge on the Mugi river, and after 30 minutes walk from Mugi river we will encounter and crossing another longer (40m) width traditional suspension bridge on Baliem river.
• From the Baliem river the trail is going up and take 2,5 hours to arrive in the village of Ibiroma. Or continue walking to Kilise village.
• Overnight at a local  house.

Day 05 :  Kilise - Kurima - Jiwika (B,L,D)

• From Ibiroma or Kilise  village in the southern of Baliem Valley gorge, we hike 2 hours to Kurima.
• Traditional Dani village are very close and can be briefly explore during the hike to Kurima. The local people life and traditional remain unchanged here, and the sophisticate agriculture
  system has been practiced along time ago.
• Arrive in Kurima by noon, we drive 1,5 hours to Jiwika in the northern of the valley via the town of Wamena.
• Lunch at local restaurant in town, afternoon we may walk and visit the Dani
  villages near Jiwika, including the 250 years old mummy at Sumpaima village
  and view the Dani's traditional compound of Anemoigi.
• Accommodation at Lauk Inn.

Day 06 :  Jiwika – Mock War/Traditional Dance - Wamena (B,L,D)

• After breakfast we hike 1 hour up to Ilueraima to see the Dani make salt by
  the soak of the banana stalks into the brine's pool, dry and carry them home.
• Lunch today is at Lauk Inn restaurant.
• The whole afternoon is spent in the village of Anemoigi where we can see the Dani Mock battle and Traditional Dance. We will see how the dani make fire traditionally.
• Late afternoon we drive 40 minutes back to Wamena.
• Dinner at local restaurant in town, accommodation at Baliem Pilamo hotel or similar

Day 07 :   Wamena - Jayapura (B,L,D)

• Breakfast at hotel.
• then transfer to Wamena airport for a flight departure to Jayapura. 
• Upon arrival, transfer to Sentani Indah hotel.
• Proceed to Mc. Arthur memorial and boating to  Lake Sentani.
• Lunch at local restaurant near the lake.
• Dinner and overnight at Sentani Indah Hotel or similar.

Day 08 :   Departure (B)

• After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to  Sentani  airport leaving Jayapura for the next destinations.
