Borneo or Kalimantan is the huge adventure travel destination, covering an area about 747,000 sq km, and one of the largest tropical rainforests in the world. The island isorang utan very rich in biodiversity compared to many other areas. There are about 15,000 species of flowering plants, 3,000 species of trees (267 species are dipterocarps), 222 species of terrestrial mammals and 420 species of resident birds found in this mighty land. It is also the center of evolution and radiation of many endemic species of plants and animals. The land inhabited by the famous Dayak tribe with over 200 different sub ethnics living throughout the hinterland along the banks of rivers and hills. It is customary for them to live with a whole extended family or one clan. Each family has their own compartment and the chief of the clan will occupy the central chamber.

 

Day 01: ARRIVAL IN BALIKPAPAN – MAHAKAM RIVER
  • Upon arrival at Sepinggan airport of Balikpapan and directly transfer by air conditioning private car to Loa Janan, then boarding on the house boat for exciting adventure of Mahakam river.
  • Lunch, dinner and overnight on houseboat. (L,D)

 Day 02: MUARA MUNTAI – TANJUNG ISUY – MANCONG

  • After breakfast, we will cross the Jempang Lake where species of water bird flyover the area to catch fish and the Ohong River where proboscis monkey, monitor lizard, and other wildlife as it glides by, and then visiting Mancong village to explore the impressive longhouse and Dayak Benuaq life.
  • Next, travel to Tanjung Isuy village for watching traditional Dayak dance in front of their longhouse.
  • Afterwards, proceed to houseboat for cruising downward the Mahakam River. (B,L,D) 

Day 03: LEQAK KIDAU – TENGGARONG – BALIKPAPAN

  • After breakfast, visiting the Dayak Kenyah village to see remains long ear women with tattoos on their skin then return to houseboat for cruising downward the Mahakam River.
  • A stop will be made at Tenggarong for exploring the King Collection on the Museum of Mulawarman and Royal Cemetery of Kutai Kartanegara kingdom, return to houseboat for sailing to Loa Janan then directly transfer by private AC land transportation to Balikpapan for overnight on hotel. (B,L,D)
 Day 04: BALIKPAPAN – BANJARMASIN
  • Breakfast at hotel and free at own leisure till the proper time for transferring to airport for flight to Banjarmasin.
  • Arrive at Banjarmasin airport and directly transfer to hotel.
  • Next, proceed to explore Banjarese river civilization by joining the afternoon canal sightseeing.
  • Afterwards, return to hotel for overnight. (B,L,D)
Day 05: BANJARMASIN – PANGKALAN BUN – TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK
  • Early in the morning, we will leave to floating market for exploring the unique culture of Banjarese that trade commodities from boat to boat, then return to hotel crossing Banjarmasin river while sightseeing people activities on riverside.
  •  Next, transfer to airport for flight to Pangkalan Bun for starting our trip to Tanjung Puting National Park. The houseboat is a traditional Klotok, wooden river boat about 6m by 2m with a roof forms the upper deck where you can view the rainforest as it glides by.
  • The boat crew including the boatman, cook and expert guide.
  • In the peaceful afternoon, we will slowly explore the quite river by the klotok while observing the primates along the riverside.
  • Overnight and dining on houseboat, with facilities; thin mattress, pillow, fine meals, bottled "mineral" water, mosquito net, kitchen, and simple toilet available on boat besides the familiar helpful guides and boatmen. (B,L,D)
Batu laki_lakiDay 02: TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK
  • After breakfast, we will board the klotok for boating upward to Pondok Tanguy for exploring the rehabilitation center of the new ex-captive orangutans.
  • Next, return to houseboat for cruising upward the creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rain forest.
  • At this station, you will have opportunity to trek into the rainforest with your expert guide and forest rangers to appreciate the flora as well as viewing wild orangutans, gibbons, macaques, and birds.
  •  Lunch will be served on houseboat. In the afternoon, we will visit the feeding station to see rehabilitated orangutans are given additional foods.
  • We will then sail back down the river and overnight on houseboat. (B,L,D)
Day 07: TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK – DEPARTURE
  • Free at your own leisure till the proper time for transfering to airport for your next destination. (B)
