South Kalimantan is the only province in Kalimantan that worth a visit for its own sake. It has an interesting floating market where people buying and selling from boat to boat, and nearby the market is Kembang Island, home to the troop of monkeys and temple of Chinese origin present flower as the presentation to have success in commerce and fortune. About 45 Km on the eastern of the capital is the traditional diamond digging, where people take the material out of the ground then shake it on the pan of wood to find raw diamonds. Last but not least, the most interesting highlight is the Loksado plateau, a place of adventure which combines rafting and trekking into Borneo jungle with the exotic culture of Dayak people who live in the rectangle longhouses.
Day 01: ARRIVAL IN BANJARMASIN
- Meet at airport and directly transfer to hotel.
- Free at own leisure. (D)
Day 02: FLOATING MARKET – TRADITIONAL DIAMOND DIGGING – LOKSADO
- Early in the morning, we will leave to floating market for exploring the unique culture of Banjarese that trade commodities from boat to boat, then return to hotel crossing Banjarmasin river while sightseeing people activities on riverside.
- Proceed to Cempaka village to explore traditional diamond digging and polishing where people take material out of the ground then shake them on the pan of wood for finding raw diamond, then continue our trip to Pandak Daun swamp village to see water buffaloes return to the stall and people daily lives while enjoying romantic sunset there.
- Proceed to Loksado for overnight on lodge. (B,L,D)
Day 03: RAINFOREST TREKKING
- Proceed to explore jungle and Dayak land crossing shifting cultivation, cinnamon and rubber trees, waterfall, longhouses, hills, hanging and suspended bamboo bridges, rivers, primary and secondary rainforest.
- In the afternoon, back to the lodge through other trail with different beauties of nature.
- Lunch will be served en route
- Dinner and overnight on lodge. (B,L,D)
Day 04: BAMBOO RAFTING – BANJARMASIN
- Exploring villagers in making the bamboo raft then take an adventure trip of bamboo rafting crossing
beautiful landscape of tropical rainforest along the riverside, the bus will wait on the downstream for transferring to Banjarmasin for overnight on hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 05: DEPARTURE
- Free at your own leisure till the proper time for transfering to airport for your next destination. (B)
